Value Differences
As you make friends outside your family circle, you may be exposed to people who hold values and beliefs that are different from what you’ve grown up with. How can you navigate interacting with all these new people? In this assignment, you will research the value and beliefs of different cultures, consider your personal values, and analyze an interaction you’ve had with someone outside your own culture.
Part 1 Instructions
Use the internet and other resources to conduct research on the different values and beliefs of different cultures. There are hundreds of thousands of cultures in the world, so focus on three to four that are new to you. Some aspects of culture you can search for that relate to values and beliefs may be as follows:
• religious beliefs
• family values and structure
• how people communicate with one another (not just language spoken, but body language, gestures, do they touch a lot, are they reserved, etc.)
As you conduct your research, write down each source you find and take notes on the cultures you learn about in your Health Notebook.
Part 2 Instructions
You were also born into a culture with its own values and beliefs. What would you consider to be your core values?
Part 3 Instructions
Every day, people from different cultures meet and interact with one another. Think about a time you met someone with different values and beliefs from yours. How did you interact with that person?
Be sure to respond in complete sentences and use proper spelling and grammar in your responses.

At birth everyone has 350 bones, but adults have 206. Use resources at home and in your library to find out how bones develop and change as people grow. Write a paragraph explaining this change.
Explanation:
baby's skeleton is mostly made up of cartilage. As a person grows up, most of this cartilage turns into bone in a process called ossification. The knee cap, for example, begins to ossify between ages 3 and 6.
How do molecules from food and air get to the cells in the body?
Answer:
Molecules from food and molecules of oxygen move from the mouth and the nose to cells of the body through a series of blood vessels, including veins, arteries, and microscopically small blood vessels (capillaries), that extend throughout the body.Explanation:
Food having a small monomer of biomolecules and oxygen in the air is travel through the circulatory system into the cell.
How do molecules reach the cell?Through a network of blood vessels, which include veins, arteries, and tiny blood vessels (capillaries), that stretch throughout the body, food and oxygen molecules go from the mouth and nose to body cells.
One of the human body's eleven organ systems is the circulatory system. Its primary job is to move waste products away from cells and nutrients toward them.
Through chemical processes, food is transformed, creating new molecules that release energy as it passes through an organism.
Therefore small molecules from food and air travel through the circulatory system.

When positive emotions open us up to new possibilities, we are more able to learn and build on our skills. That leads to doing better on tasks and tests. When I think better about myself it leads me to be happier, healthier, learn better, and get along well with others.
Negative thinking helps you look at yourself and others more realistically. Negative thinking is good but... except when it isn't. Sometimes it makes sense to give up unrealistic ambitions and hopes and put your energy into a new endeavor
Which sentence from the excerpt from George Bernard Shaw’s Pygmalion suggests that Henry Higgins has already formed a negative opinion of Eliza Doolittle?
HIGGINS: Very well, then, what on earth is all this fuss about? The girl doesn't belong to anybody—is no use to anybody but me. (He goes to Mrs. Pearce and begins coaxing). You can adopt her, Mrs. Pearce: I'm sure a daughter would be a great amusement to you. Now don't make any more fuss. Take her downstairs; and—
MRS. PEARCE: But what's to become of her? Is she to be paid anything? Do be sensible, sir.
HIGGINS: Oh, pay her whatever is necessary: put it down in the housekeeping book. (Impatiently) What on earth will she want with money? She'll have her food and her clothes. She'll only drink if you give her money.
LIZA (turning on him): Oh you are a brute. It's a lie: nobody ever saw the sign of liquor on me. (She goes back to her chair and plants herself there defiantly).
PICKERING (in good-humored remonstrance): Does it occur to you, Higgins, that the girl has some feelings?
HIGGINS (looking critically at her): Oh no, I don't think so. Not any feelings that we need bother about. (Cheerily) Have you, Eliza?
LIZA: I got my feelings same as anyone else.
Answer:
LIZA (turning on him): Oh you are a brute. It's a lie: nobody ever saw the sign of liquor on me. (She goes back to her chair and plants herself there defiantly).

What choices can I make to be and stay healthy?
Answer:
The two most important things in staying healthy are diet and exercise. Mental health is also very important, but I'm guessing this question is about physical health.
Diet: Eat more fruits and veggies, cut down on carbs and processed sugars. Drink more milk, juice, and water instead of coffee, soda, or alcohol.
Exercise: Go for a run or walk, and/or play a sport. Be active for 30 minutes a day. This helps lower your resting blood pressure and clears your mind.
