Ideally, a measurement should have validity, reliability, and _____ in order to be useful to scientists.

Answers

Answer 1

Ideally, a measurement should have validity, reliability, and power in order to be useful to scientists.

A scientist is someone who performs scientific study to enhance knowledge in a field of interest. There are various factors that drive scientists to work. Many people want to know how the world came to be and why it is the way it is. They display a keen interest in reality.

There was no actual ancient counterpart to a modern scientist in classical antiquity. Though Thales (c. 624-545 BC) was arguably the first scientist for describing how cosmic events may be seen as natural, not necessarily caused by gods, the term scientist did not come into common usage until the 19th century after it was first used. Instead, philosophers engaged in the philosophical study of nature known as natural philosophy, a precursor to natural science.

every time we break up a relation during the normalization process, we may have to create a referential integrity constraint. True or false?

Answers

False. During the normalization process in database design, the goal is to eliminate redundancy and ensure data integrity by breaking up a relation into multiple smaller relations. This process involves identifying functional dependencies and creating new relations based on those dependencies.

Creating referential integrity constraints is not a direct consequence of breaking up relations during normalization. Referential integrity constraints are used to enforce relationships between tables, typically through the use of foreign keys and primary keys. These constraints ensure that data in related tables remains consistent and that references to entities in one table are valid in another.

While normalization may involve creating new relations, the need for referential integrity constraints depends on the relationships between those relations, not solely on the act of breaking up the original relation. It is possible that referential integrity constraints are required as part of the overall database design, but their necessity is determined by the relationships and dependencies between the tables, not the normalization process itself.

Margaret Mead was an important contribution to the nature-nurture debate, arguing that teenagers experience less stress in Samoa than in the United states.

The nature-nurture debate is a longstanding argument over whether development is more heavily influenced by our genes or by the environment. An important contribution to this debate was American psychologist and anthropologist Margaret Mead's 1928 study, which argued that teenagers experience less stress in Samoa than in the United States.

The book "Coming of Age in Samoa" by Margaret Mead was an important contribution to the nature-nurture debate, arguing that teenagers experience less stress in Samoa than in the United States. This book provided a detailed ethnographic study of adolescent girls in Samoa and compared their experiences to those of adolescent girls in the United States.

Mead's findings suggested that cultural and environmental factors play a significant role in shaping adolescent experiences and that the stress experienced by teenagers in the United States is not a universal or inevitable aspect of adolescence. Why do the modern calendars start with year one set about 2000 years ago:
Roman christians chose the Birth of Jesus Christ as the first year.
O Because 2000 AD starts before 2000 BC.
O That is when years were invented.

Answers

Answer:

The earlier Julian calendar was in use prior to the adoption of the current Gregorian calendar. It turned out to be remarkably close to the actual length of the year, but the Julian calendar wasn't so accurate that it didn't gradually veer off course over the centuries. But hundreds of years later, only monks had any free time for intellectual activities, and they were forbidden from considering the concept of "secular time" for any reason other than determining the date of Easter. The study of time measurement was formerly regarded to be overly intrusive into God's personal business throughout the Middle Ages and was later dismissed as a menial, mechanical subject undeserving of serious attention.

Therefore, it wasn't Pope Gregory XIII (1502 – 1585) eventually changed the Julian calendar in 1582, by which time Caesar's calendar had strayed a full 10 days off track. Ironically, by the time the Catholic church gave in to the pressure of the scientific evidence that exposed the error, it had largely lost the ability to put the repair into effect. Gregory's calendar prompted Protestant tract writers to label him the "Roman Antichrist" and assert that its underlying objective was to prevent sincere Christians from worshiping on the appropriate days. It took until well into the 18th century for Europe as a whole to formally adopt the "new" calendar as we know it today.

however, for tonnies, who recognized these same personable relationships, he referred to these societies as having ____________ relationships.

Answers

Tönnies referred to these societies as having "Gemeinschaft" relationships. In Gemeinschaft societies, relationships are personal, intimate, and characterized by strong social ties.

Ferdinand Tönnies, a German sociologist, developed the concepts of Gemeinschaft and Gesellschaft to describe the two main types of societies. Gemeinschaft relationships are rooted in personal connections, shared values, and a sense of belonging to a community. These societies are typically small and closely-knit, with members feeling a strong bond and responsibility towards one another. In contrast, Gesellschaft relationships are more impersonal, utilitarian, and individualistic. These societies are larger and more complex, with members interacting primarily on the basis of self-interest.

Gemeinschaft relationships, as recognized by Tönnies, emphasize cooperation, shared traditions, and mutual support. Members of these societies often know one another well and engage in activities that promote collective well-being. This type of relationship can be found in small towns, rural areas, and close-knit neighborhoods where people frequently interact on a personal level.
